Garlic & Herb Butter

Garlic and herb butter

Ingredients

 

2 sticks of room temperature unsalted butter

2 teaspoons minced garlic

2 teaspoons finely snipped chives

1 teaspoon chopped rosemary

1 teaspoon chopped thyme

1 tablespoon chopped flat leaf parsley

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon salt

pinch chili pepper


Method

Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix with an electric hand mixer until light and fluffy. (Or get a workout and mix it by hand)!

Wipe down a flat work surface with a damp cloth. Place a piece of plastic wrap on the damp surface with the longest side facing you. (The damp will help the plastic wrap stay put!) Using a silicone spatula put the butter in the center of the plastic wrap in the shape of a rough log. Pull the long end of the plastic over the butter and roll it up. Twist the ends and place in the fridge to harden, or in the freezer for later use.

The combinations of ingredients are endless. Try Capers, dill, garlic, lemon zest and juice on fish or chipotle pepper in adobo sauce with cilantro on skirt steak.
